The Secret to an Affordable Spring Getaway with the Family

The Secret to an Affordable Spring Getaway with the Family + Enter to win a 2-Year Membership to RedWeek Below!

I always love to be able to take a family vacation every week. It is so important to me that our son gets to see all the wonderful parts of the United States and learn some great history. When I was little my parents always managed to take us on a family vacation during the summer. We weren’t rich by any means, but they did manage to save and take us somewhere special that we still remember. I remember them taking my brother, sister, and me to Florida there and back to Missouri in a week. Yes, we drove there and back in a week and managed to see the ocean and Walt Disney World. I have actually traveled to at least 75% of the United States and managed to learn a lot about our wonderful country. So, how do you manage to take a spring or summer vacation without breaking the bank?

A great way to save money on a hotel is to rent a timeshare! Timeshare rentals are timeshares that owners rent to other individuals, rather than use for themselves. Timeshare rentals are nothing new, yet most travelers are unfamiliar with them. We would love to take our son to Disney World this summer and I found timeshares in Orlando for as low as $50 per night! That is much cheaper than any hotel stay I have found!

RedWeek.com is the largest online marketplace for timeshares, and has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Owners post their timeshare units on RedWeek’s site, and connect directly with travelers looking to rent. No middleman, and no toursEver.

From RedWeek:

RedWeek is an online marketing site, with over 1.5 million members, where owners list their timeshares for rent.  A Redweek.com membership gives access to all of the information on timeshare rental listings on RedWeek.com, including reviews, and the ability to engage in rental agreements with great budget-friendly offerings.

Once you become a member of RedWeek, you can search timeshares by location or resort name. They offer timeshare rentals, resales, and exchanges. A timeshare gives you everything a hotel does like spacious accommodations, kitchen, resort amenities, and is cost effective!

The  advantages to renting a timeshare directly from an owner include:

  1. Timeshare rentals typically cost up to 50% less than cramped hotel rooms.During the off-season some timeshare rentals can cost less than plain, small, motel rooms.
  2. They are spacious: the kids can have their own bedroom which means the parents can stay up late in the living room while the kids go to bed early.
  3. Most come with a kitchen so you can save money on the cost of meals.
  4. Things to do: Most are attached to a resort (hotel) where many of the amenities (waterpark features, children’s playgrounds, arcade game rooms, etc.) are included in the rental price.

My Thoughts:

We are definitely going to be using RedWeek for our next vacation! I knew you could rent timeshares, but I did not know they could be so much cheaper than staying in a hotel or resort. I highly suggest becoming a member and checking out the timeshares on RedWeek.

I learned/liked that most timeshares are a lot more family friendly than a hotel. We are a family with younger children so it is nice to know that timeshares are more “home-y” than a hotel room, especially for an extended trip beyond overnight.

I learned that many travelers are unaware that renting timeshare units are far superior to hotel rooms in comfort and price, especially for families and large groups. Thank you for the giveaway.

I learned that there is a website where you can find timeshares to rent. Also they are more family friendly then a regular hotel.
