The Fourth of July is quickly approaching which means barbecues, drinks and summer cocktails. It’s the perfect time to enjoy with your friends and family. If you’re hosting this year’s fireworks celebration, blow (pun intended) everyone away with the perfect summer cocktail. Our cherry bomb cocktail is perfect to enjoy anytime but it’s always just right for that summer fun.
Cherry Bomb Cocktail
Yields: 2 servings
Ingredients:
5-6 ice cubes
1 cup ginger ale
1/2 cup cherry vodka
4 Tablespoons grenadine
Red sanding sugar
Bing or maraschino cherries, to garnish
Directions:
Pour the red sanding sugar on a plate.
Wet the rims of your serving glasses with water (or you could use a lime wedge). Dip each rim into the sanding sugar and coat evenly. Chill glasses for 15 minutes.
Place 5-6 ice cubes in a cocktail shaker.
Add the ginger ale, cherry vodka and grenadine. Place the lid on the cocktail shaker and SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE!
Pour the cherry bomb mixture into the 2 chilled glasses, filled with ice.
Garnish with Bing or maraschino cherries.
Want the deliciousness without the alcohol? You can easily create a virgin cherry bomb cocktail by leaving out the vodka and it’s still a fabulous summer drink!

I love different kinds of cocktails. This looks yummy but also pretty with the Red sugar around the rim. I know this would be a hit.

We’re not big drinkers at our house, but even so, it’s nice to have something once in a while. My first thought is that this recipe is kind of like a grown-up version of the Shirley Temple. One thing we never lack at our house is maraschino cherries (my daughter loves them and her boyfriend buys them in bulk from Costco). I’ll have to try this!
