Last week I was invited down to the Kansas City area to have an exclusive look at The 180 Room, a private dining and event space. The 180 Room is in the perfect location right off 119th Street in Olathe, KS. It’s actually in a strip mall right next door to the owners themselves, Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que.
You’re correct, I did say it’s in a strip mall! Don’t let that fool you though. Once you step your foot inside the door to The 180 Room it’s transformed into the most incredible private dining and event space in the area. It features the world-class barbecue of Joe’s Kansas City, served alongside a menu of chef-prepared side dishes and desserts, an extensive wine and beer list, and a full-service bar.
Upon entering The 180 Room I immediately fell in love with the charm and rustic decor. I was quickly drawn to the gorgeously lit full-service bar where I ordered the signature 180 margarita. It was refreshing and definitely strong!
Appetizers were passed around by a very friendly wait staff. My mom attended the event with me and we managed to try each one, including smoked meatballs, z-man bruschetta, burnt end bruschetta and Carolina bruschetta. They were all beyond amazing!
Soon after we gorged ourselves on the most incredible appetizers, we were served our meal buffet style. The meal included salad, succotash, macaroni & cheese topped with chopped up onion rings, brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, and fries with Joe’s Kansas City’s signature seasoning. As if that wasn’t enough to land us in food heaven, our meal ended with the 180 Signature Bread Pudding topped with the most indulgent bourbon anglaise. Dear lord, I was in the most incredible food coma the whole night!

The 180 Room offers menus tailored for any party whether it be an intimate cocktail party or a large business meeting with a sit-down dinner. You’ll find a variety of options and they are more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. You can also choose from a wide range of bar packages.
The 180 Room seats up to 100 guests but it’s completely suitable for smaller crowds. The 180 Room is divided into two smaller rooms that’s perfect for seating 40-50 guests each.
If you’re into competition barbecue then you probably know the significance in the name of The 180 Room. 180 is a perfect score.
