Football season is upon us, which means it’s time to start preparing for game day and start making those fun homegating memories. Our family loves fall football homegating, and there’s no better way to celebrate than having your closest friends and family over for the big game, enjoying delicious food. My layered dip recipe is a staple for game day and I’m so excited to share it with all of you.
When I need to quickly grab a few grocery items, I always go to Dollar General. It’s so easy to run in and grab the essentials, especially for game day. Since I’m fixing a seven layer dip I knew I would need Glad® Food Bags Storage-gallon sized, Glad® Food Containers Family Size and Sparkle® Paper Towels.
The perfect products to make hosting a homegating party a breeze!
These items are perfect for helping me cut down on prep time and keep cleanup to a minimum, while avoiding a last minute run to the store. Don’t drop the ball and miss the big play, stock up and save now so you can relax later, and keep having fun with your friends and family. I was so excited to learn about the amazing savings on these items at Dollar General.
Game Day 7 Layer Dip
1 can (16 oz) refried beans
4 oz (1/2 of a block) cream cheese
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
You can easily prepare this dip the day before the Big Game using the Glad® Food Bags Storage Gallon and Glad® Food Containers Family Size purchased from Dollar General.
You can make your dip in one of the Glad® Food Containers Family Size (or use a few depending on crowd size) or a baking dish.
First, place the refried beans and cream cheese together in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds and stir until combined and extra creamy. Microwave for longer if cream cheese is still hard or not creamy. Stir in taco seasoning. This will be your first layer you place in your dish.
Layer lettuce, cheese, salsa, olives and sour cream on top of refried bean mixture. Use as much lettuce, cheese and sour cream as you like. I hate to put a measurement on these as I believe it’s more of a personal preference. I love preparing these a few days before using the Glad® Food Bags and Glad® Food Containers, so I can focus on the rest of my party.
Add jalapenos if you like more heat! Serve with tortilla chips.
Place in refrigerator overnight or 1-2 hours before serving. The Glad® Food Containers are perfect for storing in the refrigerator or for leftover
Of course, clean up is always a breeze with my Sparkle® Paper Towels from Dollar General. Find a Dollar General store near you.
