Cats hold a special place in my heart. I love being able to give a home to many cats that otherwise would have been without a home or gone to a shelter. So, I’m always excited when I get to introduce new products to them or share a new product with friends. I wanted to put together a gift basket for a friend that just welcomed a new cat into her home. So, I headed out to Target to find the perfect supplies.
While shopping at my local Target store a few days I headed straight for the cat aisle. I already had a great selection of toys to include in my cat gift basket but knew cat food was a must. I immediately noticed the Meow Mix Simple Servings and knew they would be the perfect addition to make my gift basket complete.
Of course, I had to get some of my own mess-free new Meow Mix Simple Servings cat food for my kitties as well. I wanted to see if they gave it two paws up. I love the single-serve portions so there are no leftovers. Leftovers? Who am I kidding! My cats never leave leftovers! They are so easy-to-open too so I don’t have to clean a spoon. I selected the two-pack of chicken & turkey. At Target they are available in tuna & salmon, seafood variety and chicken & turkey. I love that it’s pieces of real seafood or poultry in a savory sauce or gravy. My cats love gravy!
You can easily make your own cat gift basket. You can add whatever you like to the basket that the cat might enjoy. Cats can be finicky creatures so offer a variety of toys, treats and cat food. Of course, letting your cats help probably isn’t the best idea. Mine thought they were good helpers but ended up making a mess of my basket!

Other Cat Related Items
You can use a basket or anything cat related. I chose to use a cute toy bag with a paw print on it. Plus, it can be used for toys, treats or other cat related items.
I like to start by adding a filling in the bottom. It makes a prettier presentation. If you have so many items that your basket will already be filled then you can leave out the filling. I love to use tissue paper or pretty paper shreds.
Keep your friend and their cat in mind when selecting the items to put in your basket. If this is their first cat you might want to add a food and water bowl to the basket. If they already have cats you might want to keep the focus on toys or handmade items. For example, you could make diy catnip kickers. Our cats love them!
You don’t have to leave it at gifts for the cat only. Gift your cat loving friend cat themed towels, pajamas or jewelry.
I like to keep my gift baskets open but you can seal them with cellophane or wrap with gift wrap. It’s your choice! Or, make it fun and wrap it in something cat friendly that smells like catnip. The cat will go crazy!
No Mess. No Leftovers. So Simple
My cats love the new Meow Mix Simple Servings and I’m sure the cat receiving this gift basket will love them just as much. My cats thought they were delicious! I absolutely love the no mess, no waste portions. With a single serving in every cup, you can feed your cat the wet food they crave, minus the portioning and leftovers. All you have to do is open and serve—it’s that simple.
