The Hero Starring Sam Elliott

The Hero Sam Elliott

The Hero Sam Elliott

I’m pretty sure I fell in love with Sam Elliott the first time I watched him in Tombstone. He is such an amazing actor and well, he does make my heart melt. Of course, one of my favorite Sam Elliott movies has to be Road House. I mean, who doesn’t love that legendary Patrick Swayze movie? This summer The Orchard will release Sam’s newest movie The Hero.

Honestly, it seems like only yesterday that I met Sam on a red carpet event for The Good Dinosaur premiere. Gasp! Be still, my beating heart! Yes, just as handsome and wonderful as we all have imagined. I’m excited to be able to watch him on the big screen yet again this summer!

Sam isn’t the only actor I’m swooning for in this movie. Laura Prepon also stars in it whom we all can easily recognize from That 70’s Show. Love her! And don’t forget one of my favorite actors Nick Offerman who I adore from Fargo and Parks & Recreation. A fabulous cast in this movie for sure!

The Orchard will release THE HERO in NY/LA June 9 followed by a national rollout in June/July.

Lee Hayden (Sam Elliott) is an aging Western icon with a golden voice, but his best performances are decades behind him. He spends his days reliving old glories and smoking too much weed with his former-co-star-turned-dealer, Jeremy (Nick Offerman), until a surprise cancer diagnosis brings his priorities into sharp focus. He soon strikes up an exciting, contentious relationship with stand-up comic Charlotte (Laura Prepon), and he attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter, Lucy (Krysten Ritter), all while searching for one final role to cement his legacy.

A resonant depiction of a man fearlessly reckoning with his life, his image and, most importantly, his heart. Sam Elliott could not be more compelling.  It’s his best performance in a long time, and possibly ever. – Katie Walsh, The Playlist
