As you can see below, I love decorating my yard for fall as well as through the whole holiday season. Mums and fall plants are the perfect addition for your yard to welcome my favorite season. On our recent adventure to McHenry County, Illinois we found the best mums and fall plants at Tom’s Farm Market. It’s the perfect place for all your fall planting needs.
Upon entering the parking lot at Tom’s Farm Market I immediately noticed all of their colorful mums.
My favorite mums are yellow, white and lavender. My reasoning for these colors is because they show up the best from the road if I were to drive by my house. Trust me, I always do a drive by or two after decorating the front of our house and yard. A darker color tends to blend in with the grass and background. So, when you’re selecting your mums be sure you take this into consideration. These aren’t necessarily my favorite colors of mums but they create the most beauty for my yard in the fall.

Tom’s Farm Market is perfect for selecting your mums and fall plants because they specialize in quality bedding plants that are grown in their 80,000 sq. feet of greenhouses, on site in Huntley, Illinois. Established in 1959 and a family owned business, they know a thing or two about growing gorgeous plants. They also grow asparagus, strawberries, GMO free sweet corn, tomatoes and peppers that are farm grown and available in their market during harvest.
Not only will you find lots of gorgeous plants and fresh vegetables but also a whimsical gift shop and full service bakery, coffee bar & lunch cafe. Don’t forget your apple cider donuts! But, that’s not all…
Bring the kids along while you shop because they have an inflatable train, pumpkin playland and more for the kids including a farm animal petting zoo.
Kids big and small can try their luck at the corn maze with fun quizzes along the way.
One of my favorite things at Tom’s Farm Market was their cute pumpkin men on a ladder sitting pumpkins atop a shed. So cute!
And I loved the pumpkins hanging from the trees.
And so easy to make!

Tom’s Farm Market is open from the end of March thru December. They have many different events throughout the year including visits from Santa for the kids.
