Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit BRAVO! Cucina Italiana restaurant at Zona Rosa in Kansas City. It was a media dine so I received a complimentary meal. I invited my mom to tag along so we could try the different menu items for their 50 percent off deal starting this Sunday. BRAVO did not disappoint with their offerings of classic Italian food!

Upon arrival at the “polished casual” restaurant, amongst the shadows of Roman ruins, I noticed the gorgeous dining and decor. We were greeted by a very nice hostess. They had our table ready and after we were seated we were quickly welcomed by our server, Wyatt. He was amazing and we learned he had been with BRAVO for nine years! He told us about the specials and BRAVO’s offerings for their upcoming special.

We ordered the Crispy Mozzarella Ravioli Appetizer, fried ravioli stuffed with mozzarella, to start. It is served with creamy horseradish and Pomodoro sauces for dipping.

This dish is offered all day for $5.50. Absolutely delicious and one of my favorite items!

Wyatt followed up our appetizer with the BRAVO! Chopped Salad – chopped greens, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes, olives, Feta and a red wine vinaigrette.

And now it was time for our entrées! We chose two ravioli items, the Lobster Ravioli Alla Vodka and Braised Beef Ravioli. The Lobster Ravioli Alla Vodka, a BRAVO! favorite, is a delicious ravioli stuffed with lobster, covered with sauteed shrimp, tomato cream sauce and pesto bread crumbs.

This dish is offered at lunch for $7.50 (normally priced at $14.99) and as a dinner entrée for $9.50 (normally priced at $18.99).

The Braised Beef Ravioli, normally brought back through the winter months, is Chianti braised beef ravioli with sweet potatoes, fresh sage and a champagne brown butter sauce. Guests can enjoy this dish at lunch for $7 (normally priced at $13.99) and as a dinner entrée for $8 (normally priced at $15.99). We shared our entrées and both were ah-mazing! Our favorite was the Braised Beef Ravioli! The sweetness of the sweet potatoes nicely complemented the braised beef.

Another entrée on special for ravioli days is the Cheese Ravioli & Insalata, a half order of Pesto- and Ricotta-filled ravioli with Alfredo, pesto and tomato sauce and a choice of Caesar, Chopped or Della Casa salad available at lunch for $6 (normally priced at $11.99).

Right when we thought our bellies could take no more filling, Wyatt came to our table side to present their dessert selections. OH. MY. HEAVENS! So many choices!

BRAVO Italian Desserts

I chose the Torta de Chocolata and my mom chose the Petite Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee.

Absolutely mouth watering! I don’t care how full you feel after your entrée, you must try one of their dessert selections!

Wyatt was an outstanding server and we learned that he is also a musician when he’s not delighting guests at BRAVO. Be sure you watch out for singer/songwriter Wyatt Brewer! Check out the video and music he created below:
