One of the greatest and iconic cars to come out of the United States is the Ford Mustang. It’s a car that first got built back in 1964 and is famous all over the world. The sixth generation of the Ford Mustang, the 2015 model, is already taking the American muscle car world by storm.

Don’t get me wrong; there are plenty of American muscle cars that hold a special place in people’s hearts. But the Ford Mustang is, without a doubt, the top of the list. If you’re thinking of buying some American muscle soon, should you consider a new 2015 Ford Mustang?

Of course, if I just replied “yes” this would be a short blog post indeed! So, today, I will offer you an in-depth review of the new ‘stang and walk you through some of its features and benefits.

Under the hood

As with all good muscle cars, potential owners want to know what’s under the hood before they make any buying decisions. Ford is no stranger to making some powerful motors, and the engine options for the new 2015 Ford Mustang are no exception!

In this sixth generation Ford Mustang, new owners get a choice of three motors to get fitted under the hood. They are as follows:

  • 5.0-liter V8. Without a doubt, this will be the engine of choice for die-hard muscle car owners. The Ti-VCT V8 engine comes with 435 brake horsepower as standard at 6,500 rpm. It uses sequential multi-port fuel injection and needs premium unleaded gas to run. It does 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and comes as standard in the Mustang GT;
  • 3.7-liter V6. If you prefer the sounds of six cylinders instead of eight, the Mustang V6 is for you. As with the V8, it’s a Ti-VCT motor and uses sequential multi-port fuel injection. You can run this engine using regular gas instead of premium. And it’s a model that represents a good balance between gas mileage and cost. The V6 can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. And it offers a more than practical 300 brake horsepower;
  • 2.3-liter EcoBoost. If you think this four-cylinder motor is not a great powerhouse for the new Ford Mustang, think again! EcoBoost engines are Ford’s answer to eco-friendly and powerful car engines. With the 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the 2015 Ford Mustang, you can expect access to 310 brake horsepower when you put your foot down! You can get to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, the same as the V8 GT model! This motor uses direct injection and has a turbocharger, unlike the other two models. Regular gas is OK to use in the EcoBoost, although the best performance will come from using premium.
