The other day I was browsing through fashionworld.co.uk looking for a bit of kid’s fashion inspiration. I like to mix things up a bit, so am always interested in the fashion trends from across the pond. It was nice to see kid’s clothing designers having some fun and coming up with some unique and zany ideas. Here are just a few of the most interesting of the items that I discovered.

Chullo Hats

Knitted chullo hats are a great option. The fact that they come down over the ears means that they will keep your kids lovely and warm even on a freezing cold day. This year, there are plenty of fun designs to choose from. Amongst my favorites are the fun and zany unicorn and kitty cat ones.

If you fancy having a go at making knitted animal hats, just here. Included on that page is “the big red dog earflap hat”, which is a chullo pattern.

Ruffle Coats

Every kid needs a warm coat. This year, little girls are going to love wearing these stylish and interesting looking ruffle coats.

Crazy Bright Coats

The other trend is for super bright coats. Bold patterns and bright colors are set to be widely available, this year.

Parkas

However, crazy-bright coats are not going to be what every kid wants. If your child prefers to wear something a bit more muted, a parka could be the way to go. They are still fun, but not too zany.

Faux fur collars are also set to be a big thing. A parka is a good way to follow that particular trend without your kid having to wear anything that they feel is too bold and bright.

Patent Leather Boots

For the winter months, a good pair of boots is essential. Every kid needs a pair with good grippy soles to keep their feet dry and warm when there is snow on the ground or a heavy frost. There are all kinds of designs available. Perhaps the most interesting of them is the patent leather ones. These are available in both lace-up and slip-on forms. Even the famous Dr. Martens is getting on in the act with their child-sized patent leather slip-on Chelsea boots.

Long Sleeve T-Shirts

Not every child likes to wear shirts or blouses, so it is nice to see long-sleeve t-shirts appearing in the shops. Again, the designs are quite vivid.

Lots of kid’s clothing designers are filling the entire front of their t-shirts with bright and fun designs. Some even wrap around the sides of the garments. The cartoon and gaming themed ones are the boldest, especially the Super Mario versions.
