Share the Power of Reading with a Community Library and Kellogg
Now is the perfect time of year, right before your kids go back to school, to share the power of reading with books! There is an amazing offer of Scholastic books happening right now with Kellogg’s products. While I was at Walmart the other day I grabbed some of the specially marked Kellogg’s products so I can redeem the codes for free Scholastic books. It is a great way I can fill our new free library with books for our community.
Building a free library for your community is an amazing way to get children excited about books. It’s really based on an honest system. The children in your community can take one book. Once they return it they can take another book. Fill your community library with a variety of books for every age range. I can’t wait to fill ours with the free Scholastic books I will receive from purchasing specially marked Kellogg’s products at Walmart. It’s a great way to encourage the children in your community to read! This is also a great way to stock your pantry with delicious products from Kellogg’s! They make snacking and breakfast a breeze!
Once you purchase your specially marked Kellogg’s products at Walmart you will need to submit your receipt to get your free books. I’ll guide you through the process below. I am going to show you how I submitted the code from my box of Kellogg’s Eggo® Waffles 24 ct. I found the code inside the box.
You can upload your receipt one of three ways:
- via text
- via scanning into your computer
- or Kellogg’s Family Reward app – only when you purchase ONLINE between 7/21 – 9/11.
You must create a Kellogg’s Family Rewards account to redeem your codes. Go to http://cbi.as/gfgc and click ENTER CODE NOW.
If you don’t already have an account, click JOIN NOW. Create your account or select log in. Fill out your information.
If you want to text your codes to redeem them, be sure to check the box as shown below when signing up. I chose to text my codes because it is so easy.
If you submit your code via text you will get an immediate response.
You can then log in to check your activity and redeem your free Scholastic books!
Once you have entered some codes, be sure you log back in to select your books!
1 Kellogg’s product = 1 free, full-length Scholastic book
Each person can redeem up to 30 books! This is a fantastic way to build your personal library or donate while nutritious Kellogg’s products from Walmart. You can buy your Kellogg’s products directly on Walmart.com if you like and receive a free book from purchases made between July 21, 2015 and September 11, 2015. Look for Buy Now button at http://wm6.walmart.com/Kelloggs-Back-to-School.aspx for a list of all eligible items. All codes must be entered by March 31, 2016.
Be sure you redeem your codes for your free Scholastic books within 14 days of purchase. Whether you choose to keep or donate your books, all books will be mailed to you. Although most books arrive much sooner, the official timeline for books to arrive is 6-8 weeks. You and your children can select from 80 titles of books that are available for beginning readers to teens. There really is a book for every kid! They even have Spanish books available. You can redeem codes for hard copy or E-books. I know E-books are very popular for my son but I still like him to read physical books throughout the school year.
Your children can enjoy their Kellogg’s products while enjoying a book in the afternoon. When selecting your books be sure your kids choose books that inspire them! Reading has become a happy habit in my home thanks to Kellogg’s! It’s always a good idea to read aloud together with your children no matter how old. My son is ten years old and he loves for me to read a book to him before bed. Now is the time to fill your home library with books of different lengths, genres and reading levels. By doing this your children can discover the right book, at the right time.
Be sure to check out more books available via this Kellogg’s offer at http://cbi.as/gfgc. I’d love to hear your favorite book offered! How do you give back to your community? #Back2SchoolReady
