Resurrection ABC’s Newest Drama the Deceased Return
During my press trip to Los Angeles for ABC and Disney, I got the opportunity to view the second episode of Resurrection on ABC. The new hit drama premiered last Sunday March 9th on ABC. The second episode, “Unearth”, I pre-screened airs tonight March 16th on ABC and only left me with more questions unanswered. It is an amazing new drama that I believe is here to stay!
Lives are forever changed in small town Arcadia, Missouri when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to reappear. No, they are not zombies. They are just as they were before they died… normal people. An 8-year-old boy, Jacob, from Arcadia awakes alone in rural China with no idea how he got there. However, he does recall his hometown is Aracadia. An immigration agent, J. Martin Bellamy, played by Omar Epps takes the boy back to Aracadia. The home he once knew is occupied by a 60-year-old couple, his parents! They lost their son more than 30 years ago and guess what, he looks just like Jacob!
At the end of the first episode another man from Arcadia suddenly awakes in an unknown place. He too is from Aracadia but died years ago. The mystery still remains, how did these people awake from the dead? Were they ever really dead? Will more Arcadia residents come back to life?
ABC’s Resurrection stars Mark Hildreth as Pastor Tom Hale, Kurtwood Smith as Henry Langston, Landon Gimenez as Jacob Langston, Frances Fisher as Lucille Langston, Omar Epps as J. Martin Bellamy, Devin Kelley as Maggie Langston, Matt Craven as Fred Langston, Samaire Armstrong as Elaine Richards and Sam Hazeldine as Caleb Richards. Most recognized cast members for me were Kurtwood Smith (That ’70’s Show), Samaire Armstrong (Entourage), Matt Craven (Justified) and Omar Epps (House). It has a great cast!

I highly suggest watching the first episode so you don’t miss out on any key details! Watch the Resurrection series premiere.
The lives of the people of Arcadia, Missouri, are forever changed when their deceased loved ones return.
During my press trip, we were able to interview executive producers Tara Butters (@breadandbutters) and Michele Fazekas. It was amazing being able to get the creators view of Resurrection and what’s in store ahead. However, I think I have more questions than ever before! Resurrection is based on the book, The Return by Jason Mott but they diverge from the story of the book. The book actually does not have any answers so they made their own mythology.
From the executive producers:
They tried to answer some questions in the first few episodes but one answer makes you have more questions. Regardless of how the characters come back to life, they are back. How is this happening? Why is this happening?

What would you do if one of your deceased loved ones showed up on your doorstep?
I’ve found myself torn. i’m not necessarily a religious person, however, I find a show like this could potentially really screw with someone’s mental stability. I realize it’s fictional of course, but there are so many shows out there with content that if you watch enough it becomes part of your core values. I have seen the previews to this series and think the acting is phenomenal, I just don’t know how comfortable I am with the concept.
it definitely seems like its going to be a very interesting watch, i’ll have to watch a few episodes to see if i enjoy it 🙂 thanks for share
This was a really good show! I was so bummed that it got cancelled. I initially tuned in because I love the actors, Frances Fisher (the movie Titanic) and Kurtwood Smith (the dad on TV’s “That 70’s Show”). I hung around because it had a really great concept and characters. It was one of the few shows I got to watch with my mom and my sister. Oh well, the new fall tv season has begun! Time to pick some new favorites.
