A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to be a part of a Smithfield® Grilling Event in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium to help kick off National BBQ Month in May. During the event Smithfield®, my family and over 300 other grillers helped Smithfield® successfully set the first-ever Guiness World Records™ title for the largest grilling lesson! I also learned a lot of great grilling tips from World Champion pitmaster Chris Lilly and Weber grillmaster Kevin Kolman, along with Kansas City Chiefs’ Defensive End, Chris Jones.

To kick off summer and put my new grilling tips in place, it is the perfect time to share my favorite Smithfield® marinated pork recipe with all of you! While at the Smithfield® Grilling Event we learned how to grill delicious fresh pork recipes featuring Smithfield® Prime Back Ribs and Roasted Garlic & Herb Marinated Fresh Pork Chops. I was excited to try the other products Smithfield® offers and I found a huge variety at Walmart the other day. I selected the Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet to create some mouth-watering Carolina Style Pork Sliders for all of you! I love that I can get real flavor, real fast with Smithfield® marinated pork.

Even if we don’t grill out, Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork can be easily prepared in a variety of ways including, grilled, roasted or sautéed. What I love about the Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet is that we can enjoy it as is for dinner and use the leftovers to create pork sliders. It makes for real flavor, real fast! Carolina Style Pork Sliders with Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork

To create these delicious pork sliders you’ll first need to select your Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork. Walmart has a huge selection put I’d suggest going with a Smithfield® marinated roast, loin filet or tenderloin. All of Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork is 100% pork. With the roast you can make it more of a pulled pork slider. The choice is completely up to you! I selected the Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet.

To save time, slice the Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet before you grill. Grill for 3-5 minutes per side. This will be a meal you can create for your family in under 30 minutes!

You can purchase cole Slaw already made at Walmart near the deli section. I made fresh homemade cole slaw but you can easily use already made from Walmart. I’ve included my quick and easy cole slaw recipe below.

Now it’s time to assemble your slider. Place a slice of Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet, top with Cole slaw and it’s ready for you to enjoy! No sauce or condiments needed! The Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet is already marinated and delicious!

Smithfield marinated pork sounds good. It’s nice that it comes already marinated and I don’t have to fool with doing an extra step before grilling. Thanks for the cole slaw recipe too! It will come in handy for the summer BBQs.

The pork looks good, but the Cole Slaw looks nasty. I’ve never been a fan of Cole Slaw, so that will probably explain my prejudiced against it.

    1. Melanie Kampman Avatar

haha! Well if you don’t like cole slaw then it probably does look pretty nasty! I like cole slaw a lot but never thought I’d like it on a sandwich. It is so good!

I cook a lot. Chicken, beef, and pork are my main dishes. I have found that of all of those, pork is my favorite because there are so many different ways to cook it. If I don’t feel like standing over the stove all night, I’ll put a pork roast in the crock pot, and that’s that. Or if I want it sweet and spicy, I’ll try an Asian recipe with pork. Just like the commercial says, Pork, the other white meat. That is so true! I think people misjudge pork and think it’s too fatty or unhealthy when in fact, it can be very nutritious and delicious!
