Over the years I have taught my son how to give back and how important it is to help others in need. Yes, maybe I’m biased but I do have to say that he is so kind and generous. It makes me so proud to hear his stories when he gets home from school about how he helped another student or other good deeds he has done that day. Others have told me how thoughtful he is and I am so glad I have raised him to be this way. I’m sure having parents of my own that taught me these important lessons didn’t hurt at all.
While we do our back to school shopping it is hard to imagine what it would be like to not have the money to buy a backpack, crayons, or even pencils. I explained to my son that sometimes parents don’t have the money to buy these things for their kids. He didn’t understand. He said well why don’t they get a job… He’s very wise and so very inquisitive. I then continued on to try to explain how the economy is terrible and parents can lose a job without their control. I gave him many examples and after about ten questions he understood quickly. He was very excited to be able to give back and help others that were less fortunate.
Remember a few weeks ago we done a fun Gutzy Gear Review? Be sure you check it out. The Bandit does a fun video and all. Gutzy Gear generously provided us with their awesome backpack straps, gear, and $25 to pay it forward to a child in need. When I learned of this, I was beyond excited. We even had fans donate so we could buy more school supplies! They have no idea how gracious we are for their generosity! The deal was for us to see how much we could buy with $25, but I wanted to take it a step further and pay it forward with more. So, we went shopping…

We then sorted all the supplies evenly into the five backpacks and loaded them in the truck. The Bandit couldn’t wait to get them to the school. I took a picture of him going in the door to his school. He was so excited to deliver the supplies and knowing that he had helped fellow classmates. Thank you goes out to Gutzy Gear and our great fans for making this happen. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Do you pay it forward? Share your stories with us! We would love to organize some events to pay it forward more. Does anyone have any suggestions?
