Olive & June is a Safe Haven for Nail Fanatics – REVIEW

Olive & June Image #1-1

Tucked into the streets of Beverly Hills, Olive & June is a nail spa your fingers and toes can call home. Since its grand opening 2 years ago, the spa and its staff have crafted a relaxing, unpretentious disposition that welcomes clients from all walks of life. Whether you live in the Hollywood Hills or have just arrived from the Midwest (suitcase in tow), you will find this an ideal place to rest your weary feet.

The serene furniture, of a California Modern design, will quickly grab your attention. Beautiful and clean, this custom furniture was made exclusively for Olive & June by TenOverSix.

I immediately caught myself peering at the massive wooden door in the back, as staff quietly slid in and out, and I admired what resembled a bottomless birdcage, which was a large light fixture that floated over a tufted peach sofa in the waiting area.

The hosts were very gracious as they promptly welcomed me and handed a simple questionnaire for me to complete (as it was my first time visiting). Once finished, I was asked to take a seat and offered a refreshing beverage. My manicurist and pedicurist, Elizabeth & Marlow, quickly tended to me. I would be receiving The June Mani & Pedi. Offered as the salon’s most classic service, The June consists of nail shaping, cuticle care, and massage. The nail technicians requested I choose a nail polish color, so I went with Goddess, a sort of tangerine red, and perfect for summer!

My poor feet were suffering from a brutal patent leather flip flop beating, so I informed my pedicurist to please take it easy on my tootsies and she made sure to work around my nasty blisters. She was the true Goddess.

Similar to The June is The Chrissy, which is done with gels. This is Olive & June’s most popular service. Coming in at $35 for a Mani and $45 for a Pedi it is significantly pricier than The June (at $20 & $28), but I’m told it is worth every penny.

Elizabeth and Marlow were complete professionals, educating me through every step of my service. Our conversation was easy and enjoyable, and once my June mani/pedi was complete I felt brand new and feminine, even with my blistered feet.

The staff suggested I return for weekly to bi-weekly visits as most of their local clientele do. They also informed me of their other services: The Olive, The Margot, The Emma, The Dree, and The Alice, all viewable on Olive & June’s full menu.

At up to $15 per nail, custom nail art is also extremely popular. You can view some of Olive & June’s most beautiful artistry on their instagram. The nail technicians will draw anything from a simple line and dot to a complete landscape, and you can even add rhinestones.

In addition, all clients can add a 10-minute massage to any service for $12.

An inspiration to female entrepreneurs, the founder of Olive & June, Sarah Gibson Tuttle has successfully created a safe haven for nail fanatics. And, due to high demand, a second location will be opening on August 6th, this time in Pasadena! Olive it!

I love getting mani’s and pedi’s, as long as I receive it as a gift! I prefer to take care of my own acrylic nails (done every 3 weeks)! Although I don’t have a water bin to soak my feet, I regularly paint my toe nails to match my finger nails, and file my feet and add a foot balm. Your nails look gorgeous by the way!!!
