I actually had the opportunity to see the new Muppets Most Wanted film twice last week. I arrived on Sunday in Los Angeles and pre-screened the film that night on the Disney lot. That was an amazing experience in itself. The screening was to prepare us for all of our upcoming amazing interviews the next day. We interviewed the Muppets characters, James Bobin (director and creator) and Bret McKenzie (songwriter). I got the opportunity to view the film a second time at the Muppets Most Wanted red carpet premiere. It is an amazing experience to be able to view a film with the cast. The energy and excitement is an experience I will never forget! Muppets Most Wanted The movie starts out with the Muppets singing about having a sequel and how they are never quite as good. Of course, it was all in good fun and I have to disagree because this movie was one of my favorites. I absolutely loved it! I was born in 1980 and grew up with the Muppets. I have always loved them. I have to say, watching this movie was very nostalgic and definitely made me love them even more!Muppets Most Wanted Review The Muppets find themselves in the hands of Dominic Badguy (Ricky Gervais), also known as Number Two. Keep in mind, Badguy lets the Muppets know is pronounced bædgee… it’s French and apparently he tells them it stands for good man. Of course, the fun Muppets characters believe him and all is well until the new Kermit the Frog look-a-like villain, Constantine (Number One), is introduced to viewers. Constantine has quickly became one of my favorite characters. It could be his Russian accent or his fun villain-esque behavior… you’ll have to watch the movie to see why I love him so much and why I think he’s a great addition to the film! The Muppets are quickly entangled into a jewelry-heist caper headed by Constantine while on their European world tour.Ricky Gervais and Constantine The movie combines many recognized Muppets characters with new cast members like Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell. Tina Fey plays Nadya, a Russian guard at the GULAG prison. You’ll have to watch to find out which Muppet character finds themselves in the GULAG prison singing alongside Nadya.Tina Fey Muppets Most Wanted Ty Burrell plays an interpol agent, Jean Pierre Napoleon, looking to solve the jewelry-heist crime spree. He quickly butts heads with Sam the Eagle, CIA, who is assigned to the same case. Their feud is a great addition to the film. I loved it! I also love that Ty Burrell is wearing a moustache in this film. I recently seen him in an interview and he lets everyone know that he plans on wearing one in all his work. Apparently he thinks they are manly. I have to agree!Muppets Ty Burrell and Sam the Eagle The songs are a huge part of the film. Bret McKenzie done an amazing job writing them for this movie. I definitely see another Oscar in his near future! I was given a soundtrack during my press trip and my son has played it non-stop since I returned! Your kids (and probably you) will love the Muppets Most Wanted soundtrack! This film is sure to gain new fans from this generation and create a nostalgic feeling for old fans. Definitely take your kids to see it this weekend as it comes out today, March 21, in theatres everywhere! Be sure to follow along with #MuppetsMostWanted and #MuppetsMostWantedEvent.
