With cold and flu season right around the corner, now is the time to prepare our homes for those unexpected sicknesses. Keeping my family staying well during the peak of cold season is important and I always want our home to be prepared for whatever may come our way. Since I was asked to work with ScriptSave® WellRx on this sponsored post, I thought it would be the perfect time to share with all of you how I prep our home for cold and flu season.
Stock Your Pantry and Fridge. There’s nothing worse than having a child come home sick from school with nothing for them in the fridge or pantry. Be sure to always have some healthy comfort foods on hand like chicken soup. Or, if you prefer to make your own, freeze some for unexpected sicknesses. I also always have my favorite herbal tea, lemon and honey on hand. The combination is perfect for any sore throat. Other important items I stock up on are orange juice, crackers, applesauce, ice pops and caffeine-free, lemon, lime-flavored soft drinks.
Stock Your Medicine Cabinet and Prescriptions. Now is the perfect time to clean out any old medications and make room to restock. Having a stocked medicine cabinet keeps you from running last minute to the store in bad weather or with a sick child. I always keep my medicine cabinet stocked with any over-the-counter medicine my family may need and any prescriptions we use. And, let’s face it, my medicine cabinet could use a major overhaul right now.
Saving money on prescriptions is important to my family. Some prescriptions can be rather expensive. I’m glad I have my ScriptSave® WellRx discount card any time I fill a prescription at my local pharmacy. I always use the ScriptSave WellRx App’s “Medicine Chest Pricing” option that allows me to enter the details of multiple prescriptions at the same time, and then I can click the “Price-check” button to see EITHER, the one single pharmacy that offers the lowest ‘one-stop price’ OR the specific combination of pharmacies that will provide the lowest individual price for each single prescription. I encourage you to download a free ScriptSave WellRx discount card and install the mobile app. The program can help save money on prescription medications for the entire family. As a registered member you can save all of your prescriptions right in the app for easy price comparison every time you refill your prescription. It even offers pill reminders and refill reminders!

When I used the ScriptSave® WellRx mobile app for discounts in Kansas City, Missouri I was able to save over $6 on my monthly prescription for high blood pressure! That’s a lot of added savings over time! I love the ease of use of the app and how it’s free to unlock more savings for my family. When you register for your free ScriptSave® WellRx on the website or mobile app, be sure to use invite code Bandit.
Be sure to check the ScriptSave WellR app for your flu shot too! A flu shot is a prescription medication and could possibly be eligible for a discount if your insurance plan doesn’t cover the cost. And be sure to check those prescription meds even if you have insurance. The ScriptSave WellRx program can work really well for insured people with high out-of-pocket costs.
Stock Cleaning Supplies. I grew up in a germ-free household. My brother has Cystic Fibrosis so my parents were always on high alert for any germs. Having cleaning supplies stocked and ready was a must growing up so it’s always something I have readily available. I try to use as many natural cleaners as possible but also like having antibacterial wipes stocked up. Paper goods and paper towels are also a must. Using paper towels during sickness can help decrease germs spreading. If one of us are sick in the house I am constantly changing the hand towels. Germs can spread so easily even when drying your hands.
Stock Other Health Supplies. Stocking your pantry and medicine cabinets aren’t the only important areas to have ready for cold and flu season. It’s also important to stock up on the basics such as such as tissues, hand sanitizer, and anti-bacterial soaps. Don’t forget to having a working thermometer with new batteries readily available.
Being prepared for cold and flu season can make our lives as moms so much easier and our families much happier. I love having my home prepared and ready for the unexpected. Knowing as a family we can save money on our prescriptions using the ScriptSave® WellRx discount card is a great added bonus!
