How to Deal with Stinky Boys and Men
Do you live with stinky boys or men? My husband and son outnumber me when it comes to the stink in our household. As my son grows older and becomes much sweatier, I wanted to find how to deal with stinky boys and men once and for all! The new Irish Spring products at Walmart have been an answer to my prayers!
So, how to deal with stinky boys and men? I’ll share with you my secrets (not really secrets, shhh!) and hopefully they can be useful to you when dealing with your own stink. We live on a farm so the stink can become quite unbearable especially when it comes to manure… yes, there’s plenty of that on the farm! Plus, my son is now becoming a man so he’s definitely stinkier than usual.
1. Remove Clothing. For those really stinky jobs on the farm the clothing usually stays at the door if it’s a big mess. My husband and son know to strip down on the porch if the mud, manure and grease is really caked on. From there, it’s straight to the shower for them and their clothes go straight to the wash. I always look for grease, grass and other stains on their clothes before throwing them in the washing machine. I like to soak them over night if they are really stained.
2. Scrub, Lather, Soak and Repeat. You’ve got to get those boys in the shower or bath pronto! Make sure they scrub from head to toe. My son loves baths!
The men in my life use Irish Spring Signature Body Wash in either 3-in-1 or hydrating. We also like to keep Irish Spring Signature Bar Soap on hand to really get in those stinky crevices. I love that I can grab the bar soap in either hydrating or exfoliating scrub. You can easily find these new Irish Spring products at Walmart in the bath soap aisle.
3. Goodbye Stinky Clothes. Want to know how to deal with stinky boys and their extra stinky clothes? White vinegar is the answer! Add equal parts water and white vinegar to a spray bottle in your laundry room. If they have a shirt or extra stinky armpits, just spray the white vinegar onto the areas before adding to the wash.
4. Deodorant, Deodorant, Deodorant! Deodorant is a major factor on how to deal with stinky boys. My son thinks he’s pretty big stuff using his own deodorant now. If your son is still a bit young but ready for no B.O., just make it fun for them and show them how dad uses it to be less stinky. Works like a charm! As with all products, you might have to try a few different brands before you find the perfect one for your young man.
When it comes to living on a farm, we experience about every stinky smell imaginable. Although we do get extra stinky and dirty, we do get to experience lots of wonderful blessings on the farm…
I’ve become numb to the stink but I definitely do know how to get rid of the best stank! The new Irish Spring Signature products are keeping the men in my life smelling so fresh and so clean!
