Halloween is one of our favorite times to decorate so I was ecstatic when At Home Stores wanted to partner with us again. This time I was asked to share #MyReason for the season. The first thing that comes to mind is all the fun I have with my family during fall and Halloween. We love decorating, dressing up in costumes and having a lot of fun for Halloween.
I tend to think of my Mom as a Halloween hoarder. Not necessarily the type of hoarder you are probably thinking… she’s an extremely organized Halloween hoarder. If you need a costume she probably has it. If you need Halloween decor… you guessed it, she probably has it! Every container is labeled and she can find it within minutes. So, she’s definitely the reason my family loves Halloween so much. Besides, she is known as the Halloweenie Queenie.
Skeletons are always popular for Halloween and my mom was really set on doing a skeleton theme. So, bring on the skeletons! We wanted to have a fun skeleton themed tablescape and candy bar. We already had a lot of great pieces but wanted to bring everything together so we knew we could find the perfect items at our nearest At Home store. If you haven’t been to one of these stores now is the time! They have the most amazing holiday selection!
We really wanted to create a fun candy bar for the trick-or-treaters to enjoy. My parents house is hands down the greatest stop on Halloween night for kids. My parents dress in costume and hand out the most amazing candy, drinks and even gift cards. There’s always something there for everyone.
We loved the 20-inch hanging skeletons and five foot life-size skeleton with microphone from the At Home store.
We used one of the small skeletons, an oval tub and some skull votive holders to make it look like he was bathing in popcorn. It’s such a fun way to serve candy!
The skull mercury glass hurricanes were great additions to our treat table.
My mom had a few cute little display chalkboards that were perfect for the candy bar or even great as place holders for a tablescape.
We used different sized canisters and a serving tray for our candy.
A skeleton serving drinks is a must at any skeleton-themed party…
My mom had some fun with the skeletons and created a “skeleton’s dine in” party. Check it out below:
We love decorating for the different seasons and the At Home store definitely helps us enhance our holiday experience.

What a fun bunch of decorations.

Your decorations are just beautiful! They are both elegant and scary at the same time. The motif is as good as the episode “Boo”, which was the first time audiences say the family celebrate Halloween on the tv sitcom, “Roseanne”. Trick or Treat!
Cute Ideas! Halloween parties are so fun!
This looks awesome, I would keep it whole year around 😀
Your house is the kind of house that becomes legendary among trick-or-treaters and is the “MUST VISIT” house on Halloween!
I love the bathing skeleton with the popcorn and the light up skull.
Unique idea with the tub….! I’m sure that tub can be recycled for other events too
I can see why the children consider the stop at your house their favorites. It is incredible at all the fun decorations and that candy bar makes me want to trick or treat. Truly incredible decorations.
You have so many cool pictures. Thank you for sharing.
