A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to be a part of a Smithfield® Grilling Event in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium to help kick off National BBQ Month in May. During the event Smithfield®, my family and over 300 other grillers helped Smithfield® successfully set the first-ever Guiness World Records™ title for the largest grilling lesson! I also learned a lot of great grilling tips from World Champion pitmaster Chris Lilly and Weber grillmaster Kevin Kolman, along with Kansas City Chiefs’ Defensive End, Chris Jones.

To kick off summer and put my new grilling tips in place, it is the perfect time to share my favorite Smithfield® marinated pork recipe with all of you! While at the Smithfield® Grilling Event we learned how to grill delicious fresh pork recipes featuring Smithfield® Prime Back Ribs and Roasted Garlic & Herb Marinated Fresh Pork Chops. Carolina Style Pork Sliders with Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork

To create these delicious pork sliders you’ll first need to select your Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork. Walmart has a huge selection put I’d suggest going with a Smithfield® marinated roast, loin filet or tenderloin. All of Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork is 100% pork. With the roast you can make it more of a pulled pork slider. The choice is completely up to you! I selected the Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet.

You can purchase cole Slaw already made at Walmart near the deli section. I made fresh homemade cole slaw but you can easily use already made from Walmart. I’ve included my quick and easy cole slaw recipe below.

Now it’s time to assemble your slider. Place a slice of Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet, top with Cole slaw and it’s ready for you to enjoy! No sauce or condiments needed! The Smithfield® Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet is already marinated and delicious!

  1. What a fun event! I would have loved to see Chris Lilly in action, and you’re also part of a world record now! These sliders sound amazing, and they’d be the perfect dinner on a warm summer evening. Thanks for sharing! #client

  2. This would be great as a component to a casserole. Just chop it up, add cheese, vegetables and Rigatoni pasta. Yum!

  3. Smithfield marinated pork sounds good. It’s nice that it comes already marinated and I don’t have to fool with doing an extra step before grilling. Thanks for the cole slaw recipe too! It will come in handy for the summer BBQs.

  4. The pork looks good, but the Cole Slaw looks nasty. I’ve never been a fan of Cole Slaw, so that will probably explain my prejudiced against it.

  5. What fun to be a part of the first-ever Guiness World Records title for the largest grilling lesson!I would like to make some great pork loin recipes wth the Smithfield Applewood Smoked Bacon Loin Filet.

  6. My dad was a master judge at that event. Love your blog. I am just getting started on my Reviewer Queen Blog and it’s hard work figuring it out but I am a previous online business owner for Amazon Reviewing but enjoy review blogging and marketing mote. I would love to learn and tips you have for me. Do you live in Kansas? I moved from Florida with my son to Topeka Kansas to live with my parents after leaving a domestic violence situation and it’s been almost a year and Topeka hasn’t been to kind to me.

    1. That’s so neat your dad was a judge! It was a very fun event! I live in Northern Missouri but we travel to Kansas City a lot during the week. I do hope Topeka gets better for you and your son! Sounds like you made the right move though. Email me if you’d like and I’d be happy to answer any of your questions about blogging! melanie (at) giveawaybandit (dot) com

  7. Who wouldnt like to try all of these different kinds of food. and they all look so good. I am hungry lol

  8. That looks good! I’d love to do this. I just have to play with ingredients available at home. Nice article!

  9. I cook a lot. Chicken, beef, and pork are my main dishes. I have found that of all of those, pork is my favorite because there are so many different ways to cook it. If I don’t feel like standing over the stove all night, I’ll put a pork roast in the crock pot, and that’s that. Or if I want it sweet and spicy, I’ll try an Asian recipe with pork. Just like the commercial says, Pork, the other white meat. That is so true! I think people misjudge pork and think it’s too fatty or unhealthy when in fact, it can be very nutritious and delicious!

  10. I love their pork products. I buy them often. Always so tender and tasty. Thank you for sharing this and the recipe. God Bless

  11. This looks so good. I buy these often. They are so good and make an easy meal. Thank you so much for sharing

  12. Yummy!! This looks amazing. Thanks for sharing this with us. I love to try new recipes and new dishes with my family.

  13. Gosh, I love their products. I usually make my pork tenderloin in the oven. I need to cook one on the grill. Sounds delicious!

  14. You just can’t go wrong with Smithfield products. Love their hams, ribs and so many of their products. Marinated pork….all I can say it this sounds wonderful.
