Have you heard of WaterSavers®? It’s a consumer awareness campaign from the International Carwash Association® (ICA)h have tips to help you gear up for upcoming road trips and take care of any damage done by this year’s harsh winter.
If you have a hard winter like us, your car or truck can really take a beating! Caring for your vehicle is so important so here are four eco-friendly car tips to get you back on the road!
1. Wash your car at a professional car wash. Winter months can be especially hard on your vehicle and washing your car is an easy first step to making your car feel new again. Using a professional car wash is a great way to protect the environment. According to the International Carwash Association, WaterSavers professional car washes use an average of 40 gallons of water or less per car while recycling and filtering their water to prevent harmful chemicals from going into our rivers and streams. Professional car washes also remove salt from the undercarriage of your vehicle, which is a must after a long winter. By comparison, the average home washing machine uses 41 gallons per cycle, and a garden hose uses 63 gallons of water in just five minutes. 2. Give the inside a deep clean. Winter’s elements are hard on the outside of your car, but many people forget the abuse the vehicle’s interior takes as well. Think of how many times you’ve crawled into your vehicle with dirty, snowy feet and you can begin to understand why cleaning the inside is necessary. Apply some baking soda and a rubber sponge to your floor mats for an environmentally friendly and efficient clean. Then, wipe down interior surfaces with a microfiber cloth and vacuum the fabric and floor to remove dirt, sand, salt and dust.
3. Don’t forget the maintenance check. Winter is finally over, but that doesn’t mean your vehicle can skip an overall maintenance check, especially if you want to save energy. Make sure to have your oil changed and give your vehicle an once-over. Check the fluid levels as well. The more efficiently your vehicle runs, the more gas you’ll save.
4. How’s your tire pressure and alignment? Low tire pressure will cause your vehicle to overexert itself and waste gas so make sure your tires are up to the task. Your tires list their recommended pressure on the side. If you can’t find it, you can find the recommended tire pressure in your owner’s manual. It is also a good idea to have a certified technician conduct an alignment test since it could have been thrown off by driving over pot holes during the winter months.

Slow down to save on gas, and make sure you have good tire pressure.
Regular oil changes and car spa once a year!
I always dispose of any trash accumulated on a trip as soon as we arrive at our destination. This keeps the car clean.
Make it a habit to frequently check your tire pressure and fluid levels. This helps for gas milage and to keep your car running smoothly.
Preventive maintenance. Get oil changed every 3000 miles, tires rotated when needed, check all fluid levels and top off what’s needed. I honestly believe that you shouldn’t even drive a car if you don’t know how to change a tire and how to check and top off fluid levels.
We never let our gas get below half a tank.
Keep up with the maintenance on the vehicle.
Check air in tires !!!!!!!!!!!!
Have your belts and hoses checked 2-3 times a year.
Check your oil often. Especially before a long trip.

My best car tips are actually good sense life tips. Know how to change your own oil and for safety’s sake know how to safely change a tire.
Clean under the car to get the salt off of it.
In winter, keep kitty litter on hand to help with traction on icy spots.

Before driving in the summer get the regular maintenance check done because high temps also effect the cars operations.
My best car tip is to keep up the regular maintenance and keep the tires checked.
Best car trip ever was when the family went to the Grand Canyon. Memories beyond measure!
Stop your windshield from freezing by spraying a mixture of 2/3 vinegar and 1/3 water on it at night
DO NOT use armor All or any other oil product like it,it attracts the sun and causes surfaces to dry up and crack faster.
If you MUST travel with cats, wait until their usual naptime-then gently put them into padded carriers and go, this will give you a few hours of peace & less stressful for the cats as well.
Keep a kroger sack in the car to collect trash in so it doesn’t clutter up your car.
Check the oil every 3000 miles.
Have a small trashcan for the kids trash.

Whatever you take into the car for the drive, carry it out at the end.
Clean you lamp lenses about every 6 months with white toothpaste.
What goes in must come out. The only way to keep a car tidy all the time!
My tip is to always keep emergency gear
