How to Whiten Your Teeth at Home
There are a number of methods on how to whiten your teeth at home. Here are a few of my favorites. I do suggest making an appointment with your dentist every six months or at least once a year. We go to the dentist every six months but if you are looking to save money then this may not be feasible. To get a whiter smile at home you can try the methods below.
Be sure whatever method you choose that you stick with it for several weeks to see the best results. Clearly whitening your teeth at home is not going to happen over night.
Coconut Oil. Coconut oil has so many uses. I seriously almost soak my whole body in it after every shower. I have very dry skin and coconut oil has proven to be the best healer for me. There is actually such a thing as “oil pulling” to help whiten teeth and remove the nastiness from your mouth.

Before you brush your teeth of a morning, put about a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth. Swish, push and pull the oil through your teeth and around your moth for 10-15 minutes. This will seem like a lifetime but try to do it and keep your mind on something else like while you’re getting dressed or cooking breakfast. After the 10-15 minutes are up, spit it out, rinse with water and then brush your teeth as normal.
Baking Soda and Lemon Juice. Try making a paste out of baking soda and lemon juice. The baking soda contains Sodium bicarbonate which is great for removing surface stains. You could even try baking soda and lemon juice if you don’t want such an acidic taste in your mouth.
Put several teaspoons of baking soda in a bowl. Add enough lemon juice or water to form a paste. Use a toothbrush to apply your paste on your teeth. Leave the paste on your teeth for a minute and rinse. If you are using water instead of lemon juice you can leave the paste on your teeth for a few minutes longer.
