Cancer has an impact on nearly everyone in some way. Whether it’s yourself, a close friend or family member, we all have a cancer story. I’m joining “The Fight” with Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas.

What if today was your last day or you were told you weren’t going to survive cancer? What would you do or say? Taboo took the darkness of fighting cancer to create his new single, “The Fight”.

Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart disease, and accounts for nearly 1 of every 4 deaths. I recently lost a friend to cancer. It was her third fight. She was only 36 years old, the same age as me, with three young children. She was an amazing person and loved by our community.

My grandmother was also diagnosed with cancer near the end of her years. She was an amazing lady and I miss her so much. She gave me so much inspiration and was a true believer in working hard to accomplish your goals. Although I am very sad many pass away from cancer, it is encouraging to know that we can help save lives by supporting “The Fight” and the American Cancer Society to learn more about cancer.
