Perfect Road Trip Apps with Walmart Best Plans
Has your family gone a fun road trip this summer or do you have one planned? My parents took us on vacation road trips every summer when I was little. I will cherish those memories forever. My dad always liked taking the “scenic” route. I remember one night we drove for hours trying to find a hotel on one of his “scenic” routes. I wish we had Walmart Family Mobile back then and could use some of these great road trip apps with Walmart Best Plans. It’s incredible how much apps can simplify our life!
Before our latest road trip I stopped by Walmart Family Mobile and grabbed a ZTE ZMAX smartphone. I absolutely love Walmart Family Mobile’s 4G LTE service. It’s great for on-the-go, especially family road trips!
Here are a few perfect road trip apps I suggest for your next family vacation!
Plan First
Apps and websites can make it easy for your next road trip before you ever leave your drive. I use my Walmart Family Mobile’s 4G LTE service with my ZTE ZMAX smartphone to search the web and plan my family road trip. Map our the cheapest fuel route with FuelMyRoute. It also gives you detailed driving directions. If you love to sight see and find new attractions, RoadTrippers is perfect for finding new places to stop. Roadside America is the perfect app for finding uniquely odd tourist attractions.
Be sure you print our road trip planner to make sure you don’t forget anything before you leave!
Don’t Get Lost
Many vehicles have GPS already installed but if yours doesn’t have it you can easily use your phone to map our where you are going. I love the Scout app I can use with my ZTE ZMAX smartphone and Walmart Family Mobile plan. It not only gives you turn-by-turn directions but also finds the cheapest gas stations and gives you recommendations for restaurants, hotels and events.
Road Trip Entertainment
We love to use our Sirius XM radio for listening to different stations but you can also use the Tune in Radio app. If you have kids that enjoy different radio stations, this app offers over 100,000 of them from all over the world! You can even install apps for watching movies so your kids don’t get too bored.
We love finding new and exciting places to stop!
Share on the Go
Do you like to share everywhere you travel with your friends and family? If so, the Glympse app is perfect because it shares your GPS location to family and friends. You select the contacts you want to share with and it makes it easy so you aren’t texting and driving. That’s a big no-no!
Don’t Forget to Eat
I love being able to try new things when we’re on a road trip. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts. If you love watching the Food Network channel, you will love checking out TVFoodMaps. It offers restaurant listings for restaurants we’ve seen on our favorite TV shows like Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives and Man vs. Food. If you like taking the scenic route like my dad did, RoadFood guides you to the most memorable local eateries on the back roads of America.
Find a Hotel
I normally like to have our hotels booked before we leave but if you’re on a real road trip where you aren’t sure where the path might lead you, use the HotelTonight app. You can quickly find last minute hotel deals right at your finger tips!
A few years ago we went on a road trip to Tennessee. We had a blow out and quickly found ourselves having to call a tow truck in the middle of terrible traffic! Luckily we have AAA and the tow truck arrived in a few minutes. You can add the AAA app to your smartphone for convenience or there are a number of other great apps for emergency preparedness. I always like to know we are prepared and my family is safe no matter what circumstances may come up on our fun road trips.
