Host a Haunted Barn Party for Halloween

My family loves hosting Halloween parties for family and friends. Although in the past we have gotten snow on Halloween, it’s great when the weather happens to be decent and we can host a haunted barn party. It’s a great way to entertain guests with a variety of outdoor activities.

Step 1: Select your theme. Obviously our main theme is Halloween but we opted for a pirate theme in our haunted barn. I like to take a notebook and jot down different ideas. It’s always great to take a few days to brainstorm.

Step 2: Create a budget. My mom is a Halloween and holiday decor hoarder so we get pretty lucky when decorating for our parties. We normally do not have to purchase many new decorations. If you do, it’s always a good idea to stick to a budget. Set a budget for the decor, food, etc. We selected a pirate theme because we already had so many of the decorations that would work. Step 3: Sketch your ideas. Sketch an outline of how you will layout your party. Make sure to have sections for food and games. This is a great way to visualize where everything will go and so you don’t forget anything for the party. (more…)
