Create Your Own Box Tops Holder with Hefty
If you have kids in school I am sure you have heard of Box Tops For Education. If you aren’t familiar, it is a leading school earning loyalty program. You purchase product, such as Hefty, that offer Box Tops on the package, save your Box Tops and turn them in to the Box Tops coordinator at your children’s school. It’s an easy way to earn extra money for your school. Hefty is the only trash bag that supports Box Tops For Education. We collect a lot of Box Tops so I wanted to show you how we created our own fun Hefty Box Tops holder.
Look in stores now for specially marked packages of Hefty Trash Bags featuring 4 Box Tops for this back to school limited time program. The Hefty brand has raised more than $3 million in contributions to schools by partnering with Box Tops For Education. I grabbed a box of Hefty trash bags while at Walmart so I could get those extra Box Tops… and I needed trash bags! Be sure you grab the Hefty Waste Bags with the four Box Tops bonus – Odor Block® Scented Trash Bags in either Clean Citrus or Lavender Vanilla. I chose Lavender Vanilla. I love anything with a lavender scent!
They also come in two sizes – one roll or two rolls of trash bags. My son always knows to look for the Box Tops!
How to Create Your Own Box Tops Holder
Get creative with your own Box Tops holder. I let my son help me. We kept ours pretty simple but I can already tell he’s wanting to embellish it more! Try these steps for creating your own:
Gather your supplies. I had every intention on using a trash bag to cover the box and then paint it but the trash bag was too see-thru to work.
- Hefty trash bag box
- Scissors
- Wrapping paper or something to cover your box – get creative
- Tape
- Glue
- Paint or markers
- Box Tops
First, be sure you cut out your Box Tops. I love it when products offer bonus ones! Score for our school! Be careful cutting them out because we’ll be using our Hefty box to create our Box Tops holder.
Next, glue or tape your box back where you cut out your Box Tops. You will use the hole here for a place to insert your Box Tops into your new Box Tops holder.
Cover your box with wrapping paper or whatever you like. You could even use brown packaging paper.
Wrap it up just like you would a present.
Cut out a whole where you removed the Box Tops. You will insert your Box Tops for saving here.
Decorate your box however you’d like. Let your kids help. They will enjoy getting to decorate their own boxes. We used markers but you can add anything you like!
We kept ours pretty simple but my son was just telling me he wanted to add to it. I’ll update if he does!
Make collecting your Box Tops easier with a Box Tops Holder made out of your favorite Hefty waste bag products!
