Back to School Organizing Tips
After a summer full of a very busy schedule going in to another busy schedule for back to school, it can be hard to stay organized. I’ll admit that it is a challenge for me to stay organized but I love being organized and it’s hard to stay on schedule if you aren’t. Here’s a few of our favorite back to school organizing tips to keep you organized and on-time for back to school!
Routine
Start a back to school routine at least 1-2 weeks prior to school starting. Get your children to bed early so they can get a good night’s sleep. This is quite a challenge for me. My son is an early riser. He often gets up at 5:30 am but he is hard to get to bed early. He’s always so wound up. I know this is partly my fault because we are always busy working on the farm until late of an evening.
Homework
Create a homework station. I find it helpful to have the homework station near your calendar. Make a spot for papers that need to be filed here too. Don’t we all love saving that special artwork? I know it’s hard to put it in their scrapbook every night but giving it a place and making sure you put it in their scrapbook every weekend can help you stay organized.
Be Ready the Night Before
Get everything ready the night before for school the next day. I have found it helpful to have everything ready before your child goes to bed. Make sure their homework is in their backpack, clothes laid out, make lunches and have their backpack hanging by the door so it’s easy to grab on their way out the next morning. Also, make sure you always put your keys in the same place. I remember one morning I misplaced mine and it took me forever to find them! It does happen!
For Mom and Dad
I find it very helpful to have mommy, play date and emergency contact cards readily available. You never know when these will be useful.
