This past November I snagged the bandit out of school early, hopped on a quick plane from KC to Chicago for the Chicago Toy & Game Fair. It was fun to have a mommy and son trip. Of course, my son was mostly excited about the flight. He’s an expert in every plane imaginable. I am sure he will be a pilot or in the Air Force once he’s older. We also found my favorite hotel in Chicago!

During our visit to Chicago we stayed at the W Chicago Lakeshore Hotel. I wanted to stay in a hotel that was only a walk away from the Navy Pier, where we’d be doing most of our activities. The W Hotel is exactly that… only a short walk to the pier and the magnificent Lake Michigan.

After we got picked up our ride, the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, it was a fairly short drive from Chicago Midway to downtown. Upon entrance to the W Hotel I was blown away at the luxurious and glamorous hotel lobby. Check-in was fast and we were on our way to our room. The hotel was extremely busy on a Friday evening. Past the lobby you’ll find the Living Room Bar and Bliss Spa, offering a variety of services and amenities.

I’ll start by saying I did not have a reservation beforehand but knew what prices I could get online. I went to the desk hoping to get a better deal while also suggesting the price I could get online… their price was much higher! My son and I went to the lobby while I made the cheaper reservation on my phone… went back to the desk and got our room. I was surprised they wouldn’t just price match it but that’s what I get for trying to be cheaper LOL

At last, we arrived in our room. My son had to check every aspect of it including the amazing view of the Navy Pier. When we stay again we’ll definitely make sure we get that view! We were on the perfect floor in the most perfect room… the spectacular room as it’s called.

Our room included a king size bed with wall-to-wall windows overlooking Lake Michigan and the Navy Pier. It also included an oversized desk and huge corner seating. My son immediately wanted to hop in the shower to try the complimentary Bliss® lemon + sage bath and body products. After he tested out the terry robes and located the ice machine.

Both of us enjoyed nestling in the pillowtop mattress featherbed, down duvet, and goose-down pillows. The whatever/whenever service was very much appreciated and we used it for a variety of things. The W Hotel is ready to bring whatever you want, whenever you want it to life.

The W Hotel met our expectations and beyond. We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to visit again soon! We’ll definitely be staying there during our next visit to Chicago! Of course, no visit to Chicago is complete without a visit to a pizzeria to try their famous deep dish pizza at Pizzeria Uno!

Fair warning when you are staying in Chicago… check on hotel parking! It can be quite expensive which is something I was very unaware of and will definitely do my research before hand for next time!
