Pete’s Dragon is a magical tale of a young boy’s pledge to an unusual friend – a green dragon. Pete found himself alone and bewildered in the beastly dense woods after he suffered a car crash with his parents. Mom and dad were no longer there to protect him as Elliott shook the earth beneath Pete’s little feet. But with one glance they knew – they must stick together.

 

Six years later their bond was unbreakable. Elliott showed himself to have a heart as big as his body and a playful, nurturing nature toward Pete – he was his protector. They were family and their home was the woods. But one day that changed when loggers swept the area around them.

 

Grace, the girlfriend of a lumberjack, but wholeheartedly devoted to protecting the woods, came upon a longhaired, dirty and shirtless Pete. She whisked him away to protect him – not knowing she was taking him from his home, and from Elliott.

 

The struggle began for Pete to find his way back home. He longed for the woods and more so for Elliott, but somewhere along the way, to his surprise, he gained a second family.

 

Pete’s Dragon carries the heart of such a classic as E.T. and further acknowledges that friends are friends and family is family – no matter the size, shape, or color.
