A new season means a new you. It’s time to go through your makeup drawer and bags and toss out what you no longer need. For Fall, what beauty items should you save, toss, or buy? Cosmetics have an average shelf life of 1-3 years, but go through each item and see if the date on it has expired. If so, toss it! Every 6 months, or the beginning of a new season is a great time for this. Cosmetics are just like any other product, they do expire! So, what else should I toss for fall? Sparkly eye shadow is definitely a summer trend. Toss it. Soft lips are meant for summer time. Go bold for fall and winter. Toss it. Any bright white shadows for summer you may have… toss it.
So, what to keep for the fall? Any eyeliners in deep colors like purple, blue, or green are great. Give these great liners a try for your eyes:
Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeliner Pencil, Purple
CoverGirl LiquilineBlast Eyeliner, various colors
Add a great brow groomer to your beauty regimen to enhance sparse brows without making them look obviously filled. Try the Benefit Cosmetics Instant Brow Pencil in medium, light, or deep. that comes in a wide variety.
So, we’ve kept some things for fall and tossed some. What cosmetics do you buy for fall? Invest in a great semi-matte foundation that is also nourishing to your face and skin. Try the Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup. Keep hydrated with Vaseline
. It protects skin from wind burn and chapping, and reduces the appearance of fine, dry lines. I love using it on my lips especially when it is extremely cold outside. I even use it on my feet and then put my socks on to keep my feet from getting so dry. Don’t forget your lips and eyeliner for the cold months. Try a warm brown matte eyeliner
and a deep mulberry lipstick
