Growing up I never thought much about sunscreen or taking care of my skin. My skin has definitely been overly exposed to the sun over the years, sitting on a tractor or riding my horse for hours on end, and has always been very dry. The past few years I have tried several different products in my daily skincare and beauty routine. Now that I just turned 40, I think I’ve finally figured out what works best for my skin.
Coconut Oil. Coconut oil has been a life saver for my dry skin. After I’ve gotten out of the shower and dried I seriously lather my whole body in it. I even put it on my feet before I put socks on. Coconut oil is the absolute best moisturizer I’ve found for my dry skin. It leaves my skin feeling so soft. I have a large 56 ounce jar of BetterBody Foods Organic Naturally Refined Coconut Oil ($10.94) in my bathroom and it’s inexpensive. Buy It
Body Cream. Okay, so I don’t stop at the coconut oil. I was recently sent a few Miami Beach Bum products to try and immediately added these to my daily routine. After my coconut oil I use the Miami Beach Bum & Body Cream ($45 for 6 oz). Oh my heavens… this product smells so darn good. I love how it feels on my skin. It’s the perfect every day moisturizer for my whole body. Buy It
Eye Masks. I use an eye mask or patch a few days a week. I’ll put them on under my eyes while I’m getting around and leave them on for at least 30 minutes. If I feel like my eyes really need it, sometimes I’ll sleep with them on. Right now I have a few different ones I use and they are both incredible and work tremendously. If you feel under your eyes are puffy or you have those dark circles, these will definitely make you bright eyed.
I switch up both Peter Thomas Roth Hydra-Gel Eye Patches ($75 for 30) and Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Eye Masks ($25 for 6). They are ah-mazing! Buy It
Face Cream. I have used two StriVectin products for about eight months. I started noticing a huge difference within a month of using these products. They are a bit pricey but I seriously swear by them. For my face I use the StriVectin Tightening & Sculpting Face Cream ($95 for 1.7 fl oz.). It visibly plumps, lifts and firms to rejuvenate facial contours. You only have to use a small drop every time. A jar lasts me 2-3 months. Buy It
Neck Cream. No gal wants a turkey neck, am I right? I use these StriVectin products morning and night. For my neck I use the StriVectin TL Advanced™ Tightening Neck Cream PLUS ($95 1.7 fl oz.). It doesn’t take but a very small amount. The skin on my neck is so much firmer. I will never be without this product! It’s actually the number one selling neck cream on the market. I can’t recommend these two products enough. Love them. Buy It
Face Moisturizer. I follow up my face cream with the Miami Beach Bum Facial Therapy Hydrate & Repair ($48 for 3 fl oz.). Another great smelling product from Miami Beach Bum. It’s a rich, deeply moisturizing yet fast-absorbing face cream packed with Vitamin A & C. Aloe and squalene deeply hydrate, soothe and fortify your skin barrier. It leaves my skin feeling so smooth. I have been blessed with very good skin besides it being overly dry. I have never been one to wear a lot of makeup and I very rarely wear any foundation. One of the biggest tips I have is to wash your darn face. I wash mine with simple soap and water every morning, night and anytime I come in overly sweaty. I’ve taught my boy the same thing and luckily he hasn’t had many problems with pimples or acne.
Take care of your skin and let me know in the comments if you currently use or try any of the above products. I’d love to know how they work for you!
