Kansas City Royals Dress Up as Chiefs Cheerleaders
Any baseball fans here?
When I was little I can remember going to several Kansas City Royals games. My dad and brother were the biggest baseball fans I knew. I can remember my brother collecting thousands of baseball cards. He was so organized. He had them in sheets and would constantly go through them. It was like an obsession. Years later he had several very valuable cards. I can always remember George Brett and how amazing he was to watch.
I was five when the Royals won the World Series in 1985. My brother was nine – the same age as my son.
Twenty-nine years later and I get to enjoy the game with my son. He absolutely loves the Royals and cheering them on. His favorite player is Billy Butler and he’d give anything to get his autograph!
My son and I went to the last home game on Sunday. It was so amazing… getting to see my son cheer, dance and holler for his favorite team. He absolutely loves them.
We’ve gotten several great pictures this year!
After the game we waited for them to get on their bus with a crowd of cheering fans. My son just had to get an autograph! He was really hollering for Billy Butler and Salvy (Salvador Perez) but they just waved. The rookies came out in Chiefs cheerleader uniforms. It was so funny! Apparently it is a thing and known as rookie hazing! They came over and gave autographs. My son had his hat signed by Brandon Finnegan and Liam Hendriks. He has been on cloud nine ever since!
I got a fun video of the Royals rookies dressed in the cheerleading outfits. Check it out below:
