Selecting the perfect pumpkins for your home can be a difficult task. Whether you grow or buy them you should learn how to select the best one. Find the perfect pumpkin for your home whether it be for carving that fun jack-o-lantern or using it as decor. Have fun with it and take your children to the nearest pumpkin patch with you! Everyone will enjoy selecting their own pumpkin.

Select different colors.

I love to select a variety of colors for displaying around my home. You can also get creative if you are a diy fanatic and paint your pumpkins. Use craft items or stencils to create your own phrases. These are very cute but I haven’t found the time to do this quite yet! It’s definitely on my bucket list of diy tasks.

Now days you can find absolutely any size pumpkin for any project. They come in tiny sizes to pumpkins so large you can’t move them on your own. I like to select various sizes for display around my home.

A good stem.

Make sure your pumpkins have good stems. A pretty stem makes for a better display. Never carry your pumpkin by its stem because you risk breaking the stem off.

Select a great shape.

I like to find pumpkins that are unique but you selecting a round or oval pumpkin is great for display and carving.

Select a firm pumpkin.

Be sure the pumpkins you select are firm. A pumpkin that is starting to get soft is definitely going bad. The stink and clean up from a rotting pumpkin can be quite pungent.

With all these tips you can select the perfect pumpkin for your home. I also love to find unique pumpkins. It’s always fun to have something different than everyone else. We love planting our own pumpkins and seeing how we can get better at growing them every year. My mom and son have gardens they love to tend to every year and pumpkins are always a must to enjoy in the fall!
