Whether your New Year’s Resolution to be stronger and fitter is long-forgotten, or you’re struggling to incorporate fitness into your everyday life due to work commitments and other obligations, all is not lost!

Here we’ll explore some helpful ways you can keep your dedication and motivation to fitness strong in 2021.

Bring Fitness Home

Are you still dragging yourself to the gym every evening? Or struggling to force yourself out of bed early in the morning? Sometimes, the biggest issue we have with exercise is getting ourselves to the gym or fitness centre! In order to keep your motivation levels high and keep yourself dedicated, why not bring fitness home instead?

By creating your own home gym, complete with high-quality gym equipment, you won’t have to travel far to get your fitness fix. Having access to a range of apparatus at home means that finding the time to exercise is much easier than before. You could lunge on your lunch break or Romanian Deadlift after dinner. When you have access to all the equipment you need and you don’t need to travel, pay or wait for machines or worry about other gym-goers, it’s easier to find the motivation to exercise!

Make It Fun!

Exercise isn’t a punishment for eating too much or how heavy you are on the scales. It should be part of your everyday routine and there are no rules about how you move your body! If your goals are to simply be more active, then making exercise as fun as possible is a simple and effective way to smash your goals. You could challenge yourself with your gym equipment, try a dance class, sign up for a spin class, or try swimming and diving! Whatever you enjoy, try adding an element of fitness! You’ll find you’re counting down until your next session.

Set Goals

Exercising without any specific goals can quickly lead to dissatisfaction and a lack of motivation. And saying that you “want to lose weight” isn’t specific enough. Breaking your goals down into mini aspirations can help you see results quicker and spur you on to keep going! Maybe you want to manage 10 push-ups without assistance or you want to master the pull-up. Or maybe your goal is to simply do more exercise such as walking around the block 5 times a week for 30 minutes. Whatever your goals are, make sure they’re specific, manageable and grow with you!

Reward Yourself

Reached a fitness milestone? Why not treat yourself to a new pair of running shoes? Did you get out of bed this morning and hit the treadmill? Relish those endorphins and treat yourself to something from your Amazon Wishlist. Rewarding yourself for your dedication to your fitness regime will help you stay motivated!

And Finally,

Bring a Friend

Who says you have to exercise alone? Bringing in friends and family to join you on your fitness journey can help keep you accountable and motivate you to hit those goals. Meet up for a walk together, join a fitness class, hit the pool! Exercise is great for bonding too!
