Located in scenic McHenry County, Illinois you’ll find Stade’s Farm & Market. It’s the perfect place for farm fresh produce, u-pick fruits and vegetables. They even have a Farmtractions Theme Park for the kids!
The owner, Vern Stade, of Stade’s Farm & Market met us upon our arrival. I loved learning more about his farm, which started as a dairy farm years ago, and love for collecting older tractors. He has a lot of love for his farm and the fruits and vegetables he grows. The farm is popular for u-pick fruits and vegetables including strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, apples, and pumpkins throughout the summer and fall.
After we spoke to Vern we all loaded up on a wagon pulled by an old, but very well cared for narrow front end International tractor. I am a John Deere gal myself but it was an awfully nice tractor. He took us a ride through the farm, the apple orchards, berry fields and pumpkin patches. I loved that he works hard to maintain good conservation practices on his farm. It is very well cared for and maintained.
We made a stop at the apple orchard and got to pick our own apple to enjoy.
Then we stopped at one of the pumpkin patches and got to pick our own pumpkin. There was every kind of pumpkin, squash and gourd you could imagine.
I selected a more unique pumpkin and love it! I sit it out on my front porch once we got home.
Not only can you pick all the fruit and vegetables your family needs but they also offer home grown produce in their gift store and market.
I love how they designed the inside of their store!
You can find a variety of gifts and other items in the store.
Let’s not forget the fun for the kids! Stade’s also has a Farmtractions Theme Park for the kids to enjoy!
It includes a petting zoo, corn maze, giant slides, hayrides and a large variety of unique attractions.
They even have a combine they’ve painted to look like Frank from the movie Cars!
There’s something for everyone in the family at Stade’s Farm & Market. As part of their community outreach, Stade’s Farm donates the use of their space for a unique outdoor worship experience, offering non-denominational contemporary Christian services called “Fields of Grace.” They even have an annual tractor and truck pull that raises money for charity. My family loves a good pull. My husband and son are completely obsessed and would love to have their own pulling truck or tractor.
