Energy Savings Cars
With the new array of true hybrid and electric cars, consumers are faced with more choices than ever before. Getting ahead in the right energy-saving car has become important to many. Others would just like to get a good price without sacrificing fuel economy. Is the market too saturated with fuel-efficient cars?
Actually, the answer is no. The market is not saturated. If it were, everyone would be driving a Prius or something like it. The truth is that the unless you are taking advantage of the current Prius V deals, you are probably buying something with poor gas mileage. It really pays to do your homework. There are vehicles on the market today that are unable to make it past the 25 mpg mark on the highway! That’s right. These vehicles are still guzzling gasoline, and it is totally legal for them to be sold. Even more surprising, many of these vehicles charge a premium for things like keyless start, which is a basic on most hybrids such as the Prius.
According to the US Department of Energy’s Fuel Economy Calculator, a 25 mpg car would cost at least $2,300 to operate per year. A 51 mpg Prius, on the other hand, would cost only $950 per year in fuel, according to the fuel economy calculator. Clearly it is very possible to get ahead in the right energy-saving car. With a difference of $1350 per year, the fuel savings would pay many car payments.
