A New Trend in Fuel-Efficient Ford Cars
In 1998, while I was attending college, I remember buying gas for 69 cents a gallon on the Oklahoma/Missouri state line. Wow, if only gas prices were that cheap now. Could you imagine what a difference that would make? Consumers are now looking for vehicles with better fuel mileage because let’s admit, I’m not going to be buying 69 cent fuel anytime in the near future. While consumers are still purchasing pickups and SUVs, there is a rising number each year that are leaning towards vehicles costing them less at the pump.
Consumers are actually looking to purchase vehicles with smaller engines so they would not need to refuel as much. The sales of two of Ford Motor Company vehicles, Mercury Milan and Ford Fusion, have shown this trend to be in high demand and possibly here to stay. Four-cylinder models, which can be found at Deery Ford of Des Moines, are doubling in sales and account for a large part of Ford vehicles’ sales.
Even though gas prices are expected to stay lower than in previous months, more fuel-efficient cars are here to stay. People are more concerned and their pocket books are becoming more affected by the increase in gas prices over the years. People are tired of overspending at the gas pump. Ford offers a great selection of fuel-efficient, eco-conscrious vehicles without a complete decrease in power. You can always find what you want, how you want with a Ford vehicle.
Ford has came a long way and even offers an all-electric vehicle so you can bypass the gas pumps! Get a smart performance engine with a hybrid, plug-in hybrid or all-electric Ford model.
Even if you aren’t on the market for a new car, there are plenty of ways you can become more fuel conscious. Here are some great tips:
- Take it slow and don’t get distracted while driving.
- Shut your engine off and stop idling.
- Empty out your trunk or unnecessary stuff in your car. Don’t get weighed down.
- Quit being an aggressive driver and stop speeding.
