Before we had iPads, iPhones, laptops and other electronic devices we actually sit down together and enjoyed board games. The Wits & Wagers Party Games, from North Star Games, is definitely not your ordinary board game. It's the most award winning party game in history! Anyone eight and older can play! It's great for big parties but you only need four players to make it a game! One things I loved when I first opened the box was that the rules are very easy to follow. Everything was neatly organized and easy to find.
Thanks to North Star Games we were able to enjoy an in home party with their new Wits & Wagers game. We had four players ages seven (I know, a wee bit young but he understood!) and older. Next time I would love to try an all adult game. Although it was a lot of fun playing with the kiddos.
The box contains:
- 250 questions
- 125 question cards
- 6 dry-erase pens
- 6 dry-erase Player boards
- 1 rules manual
Set up was quick and easy. We had three teams, one with two players. Your team size can range from once player per team to three players per team. I handed out a dry erase pen, an answer board, and two betting tokens to each team. I placed the one Elvis Impersonator Answer Board in the center of the table. I was the question reader and my husband was the banker. Figures, he would want all the poker chips by him! We both also played in the game as normal players. If you don't want to read the rules (which are super easy) you can easily learn to play by downloading the free Wits & Wagers app via the Android Market or Apple App Store.
So, on to our first question. "In what year was Velcro invented?" I asked. Each team player wrote their best gues on the Answer Board and placed it facedown on the table. I guessed 1921. I had no idea. Once everyone has submitted a guess we flipped over our Answer Boards. Sort them from smallest to largest starting with the "one" Answer Board. Then we placed our bets!
After we had all placed our bets, we flip over the Question Card to read the answer. 1948. Hmm... Of course, my husband was the closet. Then we prepared for the next round. The seventh question is the final question. The team with the most Poker Chips at the end of the seventh question wins the game! My husband won... we'll see who wins in a rematch! We had a lot of fun playing and look forward to trying more games from North Star Games.
