What the Cluck? Change Your Chicken Giveaway

If you’ve followed along with us for a while then you know how much we adore or animals here on the farm. We have several free range chickens and get such enjoyment from them. Our animals are such a huge priority in our life. Not only do we have chickens but we also feed around a hundred head of steers, a few cow/calf pairs, horses, ducks, a fun goat (you’ve probably met your on our instagram) and a lot of cats. I love them all so much and was so excited to help bring more awareness to this great challenge.

Here’s one of our hens with her chicks this past Spring:

Bloggin’ Mamas is sponsoring this giveaway to bring awareness to farm animal cruelty issues and to support the ASPCA’s “Change Your Chicken” Challenge. Did you know that most full-grown chickens have less than one square foot of space to live in– less than the size of an iPad?

The ASPCA is hoping to raise awareness about the plight of factory farmed chickens in order to inspire the public to demand healthier, more humane conditions. They launched Change Your Chicken– a 30 day challenge that encourages Americans to shift all their chicken purchases from the worst factory farmed products to more humanely raised products.

This is an issue very close to my heart. Quit buying eggs and chickens from these producers! Make sure you are buying certified humane. I prefer to buy ours locally from the Amish. They are truly free range chickens. You would be surprised at what is considered free range when you are buying at a store if it only says free range. They get only a small space to roam. It sickens me.
