Homemade Crock Pot Beef Stew
My husband had been wanting me to make beef stew for a while and specifically said, “don’t be making any of those internet recipe beef stews.” Yes, I’ve tried several recipes off the internet and Pinterest. Many are good but there’s always the ones that say – Best Recipe Ever – well, best it definitely is not! Has anyone else had this happen? I’m sure I’m not the only one. So, my husband said I just had to get his Mom’s beef stew recipe and that I did! Now I’m sharing it with all of you. It is delicious! She suggested cooking the meat in a pressure cooker but I don’t have one so I made this in the crock pot.
Ingredients:
2 pkgs Stew Meat
2 Envelopes of Lipton Dry Beefy Onion Soup Mix
1 Cup Flour
1 T Vegetable Oil
1 32 oz. pkg of Beef Broth
Potatoes
Carrots
Celery
Corn
Green Beans
Peas
I never measure my vegetables so put as many in as you like.
Instructions:
1 – Heat vegetable oil in a pan on stove top.
2 – Put your flour in a large gallon size ziploc bag with your stew meat. Shake it to cover all of the meat.
3 – Place your covered stew meat in the pan and brown on all sides.
4 – While the stew meat is cooking, chop up all of your vegetables.
5 – Place stew meat, vegetables, beef broth and dry soup mix in to your slow cooker or crock pot.
6 – Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Enjoy!

I am making this recipe tomorrow. I happen to have all the ingredients at hand and I love to use my crock pot. Fix it and forget it and dinner will be done by the time I get home from work.

This sounds very good although I think I would miss the onions, I know you have the dry soup mix in there but for my taste I would want some substantial onions in there. As long as the hubby likes it though, I think that is all that matters and it is true, no one cooks as great as mom.

I think this sounds really devine and I love the idea that it can be made in the slow cooker.I will be making this as soon as I can gather all the ingredients up.

Never had Beef Stew this looks like an easy recipe. Delicious photo though I love beef. I also love soups so I’ll keep this one in mind when it comes to making Beef Stew. I am glad your not the only one that has a problem with some internet recipes because I always look for the reviews first. Ingredients are very easy to find. Cheap and Easy is me.

With another very cold prediction for us this coming week, beef stew is on my list of foods to make. I always make homemade biscuits to accompany. The leftovers are wonderful as well.
