4 Garden Improvement Ideas To Consider Before Christmas
With the holiday season upon us, it can be easy to overlook garden improvements. It’s far too cold to spend much time out there, and it’s usually dark by around 5pm. If you live in a location that experiences snow during the winter months, now could be the best time to make preparations to ensure your outdoor space looks magical for the kids. While some of the ideas we’re going to mention require a significant investment, others can be utilized without spending anything. So, you’ll want to pay attention and consider if any of our suggestions could be suitable for you. When all’s said and done, you’ve got nothing to lose. Humor us!
Erecting a gazebo
Presuming you have enough space for one in your garden, buying and erecting a gazebo could be a great move at this time of the year. Not only will it look attractive when covered in snow, but it will also mean your children can go outside without having to mess up your grass. All your neighbors will be jealous too, which is always going to be a bonus. Softwoods gazebo kits are much cheaper than you might expect, and so you should think about investing. Alternatively, there are lots of cool products for sale via online auction websites.
Planting some evergreens
While most of the plant life in your garden will have died off long ago, you could keep the area looking fantastic by planting some evergreens. They’re not going to make much difference this year, but they should be large enough by the end of 2015. You can get these plants from any garden centre, or you could purchase the seeds if you want to save money. Just make sure they get enough water during the first few months, and they should stay healthy in your garden for many years to come.
Recycling old tyres
You can pick up old tyres online for next to nothing these days. They are brilliant for creating attractive features in your garden. You could build custom planters, lay a walkway or anything you can dream up. There are lots of guides available online that show you what you can do if you need some inspiration. You’ll also encounter lots of articles that explain how to create cornstalk bundles. They look amazing at this time of year.
Create some original art
Why would you want to spend time staring at a plain and boring fence panel when you could brighten it up with a splash of colour? Presuming someone in your household has artistic talent, you could let them run riot and create something stunning. Just be aware of the fact that paint tends to seep through to the other side of fence panels, and so it might be a good idea to consult your neighbours first.
Have a great Christmas guys. We’ll be publishing many more articles on the run up to December 25th, so make sure you check back to see if there’s anything you might find useful.
Catch you later!

Great ideas! I live in the south so we are able to enjoy our garden almost year round. I tend to overlook the garden when the temperature drops. Your post has me motivated to get back outside. Thanks!
